Gen6 07 SE Tire Selection

I was toying around and looking at possibly getting some 18's on the SE. I was using a tire size converting application to find out what size tire I should get if I got some 18's. Below is a screen shot of the results

As you can see in the results, a 235/45R18 matches best with the overall diameter of the stock tire. Selecting that tire, the next screen (not shown) shows the variance of OD is 0.1%... quite impressive. Width goes from 8.5 to 9.3 inches.

Does anyone have any testimonials? I see a lot of you have gone with the 245/40 18

I found a good source of information you might like re conversions by going to www.1010tires.com. Click on to tire calculator on the left side of the page and it gives you the various differences-including defiation of the speedometer at speed. Very usefull.

I have 245/40/18 now on my TCH but will be going to 235/45 later. I have 35ET but my car is not lowered (it is a Hybrid afterall!). I think a 40ET would be better if you can get it.

235/45/18 is the best match to OEM size standards. The only problem with 235/45/18 is it is hard to find high performance tires in that size. The only tires I found were Kumho Ecsta ASX. I think I will be getting Toyo Proxes 4 245/40/18.
