5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
in all of your humble opinions, would it be worth it to put headers on a gen5? i'm aware that they don't make bolt on headers for gen 5 camry's so it would have to be a custom job and would therefore be quite pricey... do you feel a TRD catback exhaust would be sufficient, or should I splurge and have headers custom made in addition to the catback?

There are bolt-on headers made for the Gen 5... and TRD does not make a cat-back, they make an axle-back. And like what they've said, save your money. Headers on a Camry is a waste of money unless you're going for the whole shabang and get forced induction.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.

That's not a cat back exhaust. I know that it says that in that ad, but it's an axle back exhaust. If it was cat back it would almost be the entire exhaust system.
nonetheless, axle back is the way to go for us Camry people ... cat-back is silly unless youre going to redo the whole car ... most people just want a mean/clean sound out of their pipes so axle-back does the trick

^Yup. Unless its cheap and sounds gay. The reason the TRD sounds nice is 'cause its double-walled and has a built-in resonator in the muffler. So there's no rasp.
