Gen6 What happen to the Camry Quality (see CR)

I was surfing on Consumer Reports and noticed the Camy I-4 has a few black dots for Engine Minor, Electrical system.

Average marks for Climate Control and Power Equipment for the Camrys produced in '06 for '07 Model Year.

CR has the V-6 with a "Very good" rating for the transmission. All the other fields are excellent. I though it was really bad reading the threads here on TN but I guess it's not that bad.

So anyone has the problems on the I-4?

Let's see. Down on these:

Engine minor (whatever that means)
Electrical system
Climate system
Power equipment

I've been in here for over a year, and I really don't recall reading ANY reports about any of these. These seem to be the main things that have come up:

Hesitation (fixed by TSB)
Brake squeaking (fixed by TSB)
Steering column roughness (fixed by TSB)

I can't even fathom what CR is talking about!

What is with all of these threads suddenly attempting to find flaws in the Camry and Toyota in general? If you browse the forum, there is an abundance of these threads.

I guess I should be happy I got an 03.

I don't get it either. There really isn't any problems that I know of with the 2.4.

Some people think that they're a little noisy, but that's all that I can think of.

I don't get it either? Someone posted a thread titled " I hate Camrys , Toyota the Company and everyone ASSociated with it".
If you are not happy, sell your auto buy a Volvo. I see that they have a banner ad on the Nation site.

Well, while on the subject, it's beginning to get warm, and I notice the a/c takes awhile to get working. Is this specific to my car or common characteristic? May be a little low on R134a??

I just wish the 2.4 had a little bit more power. I test drove one and thought it needed more especially accelerating from 25 - 30 MPH.

Downshift it and it's got plenty of power for a 4.

Please do yourself a favor and go back and read the thread he started. It is completely SARCASTIC. He was making fun of all the guys on here who are complaining about Toyota quality, dealerships being mean, etc.. I guess you are one of those guys who didn't get it.

Had mine for a year+ and 24.5K miles, the biggest problem I had was in the winter the fan bearings make a little noise, I can't even hear those anymore...I guess they put it some AI to fix current problems :-O haha and I4 is for saving fuel more or less it's still an economy family sedan don't expect too much power unless you're running high rpm and wasting gas everywhere, I know from exprience I'd go through a tank pretty quick if I was still doing that heh

Oh, I do get the fact that the post was SARCASTIC and a little immature. Perhaps the poster needs some Xanax. Too bad that a few of the nation won't admit that there are real problems with the new Camrys.
