Gen6 Damaged AC Condenser on my 07 Camry

My problematic '07 CAMRY (I4A) has a damaged AC condensor from a supposed
pebble/rock, damage is no more than 3mm. Toronto dealer quoting 455.00+160.00 CND
for repair/replacement. Is there a shield or guard out there to protect replacement?

Toyota Sucks and Thanks!

That must have been some rock. Get some nylon or aluminum window screen at the hardware store and wire it on. Be very cautious that this doesn't restrict air flow too much so that things overheat and don't work properly.

Will it be covered under warranty?

Road hazards normally aren't covered by any manufacturer warranty, or they would be repainting front ends and pushing out hail dents till the cows come home.

That sucks, but it could happen on any car. Condensers can usually take a pretty good beating without leaking. Though it only takes a prefectly placed hit from a small stone to chip paint, crack a windshield, or damage a condenser. i show the list price being US $254.19 from the dealer.

No kidding.

That's why I have mesh in my lower grill opening as well.

It happens to every make of car.

Toyota doesn't suck near as much as you do and you're welcome.

Have used the nylon/aluminum window screen for years to protect radiator and condenser from damage.

Might call a few independent shops for A/C repair quotes.

Have you contacted your insurance carrier? Get a written quote from your dealer and make sure they state on the quote that this is impact damage from road debris. Then contact your insurance carrier. It should be covered less your deductible.

PS: Toyota can not be responsible for things that are totally outside their control.
