5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Currently, my right headlight has been burning out every once in a while. This is because there is a leak in the sealing. The whole right assembly eventually needs to be replaced, not really a big deal though.
Should I go with this set. Very decently priced and hot looking. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/02-04...15842062QQrdZ1
Its been discussed before. Those headlights are garbage. Projector lenses are crap, H1 lights optics suck as it is, and fitment and quality is crap. Save your money.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.

those headlights are crap...but whatever floats your boat....they look cool, but my buddy had the exact same kind on his focus, and the first rain we got filled them with water. wet silverstar ultras = really bad day.
My friend got those headlights when they first relased them for the camry. I felt like my drls were brighter than his output. Although some might agree that they look cool...in person they are the total opposite..It seems like downgrade the car IMO
Alright, I will definitely avoud them altogether.
Perhaps SE headlights are an option or I could try to get gen 5.5 lights which I really like. Problem is, I would really hate to buy them used because of the sealant problem. Thing is with brand new headlights, they would be warrantied as well, not the ones I linked to but others.
^Sealant problem? I can tell you that in order for us to retrofit the Gen 5 headlights, we have to open them completely up and then put them back together. I had a little condensation on my headlight on one occasion right after I had finished my retrofit. Since then, no water (to my knowledge) has entered the headlight. I reused the OEM butyl already there to hold the headlight together so I can say that it is pretty good sealant if that is what you are referring to. In other words, there is nothing wrong with buying a used headlight unless the lens is very cloudy or it has been "repaired".

Interesting. Well then let me ask you this, is there a way I can re-seal my current headlight that is allowing condensation in and everyonce in a while burning the bulb out?
Your OEM headlights should not be allowing much, if any, moisture in. I've never had that problem. But if you really want some good sealant, there is some Nissan headlight sealant. You can pick it up at a Nissan dealership or here: http://performancenissanparts.com/products/?id=5577
I've never used it but I've heard that it is good stuff for sealing up headlights. A lot of guys who do retrofits use it. There is also the option of silicon.
