Not sure if anyone has done this upgrade themself or it has to be an leather shop.
Also, the how do you know that side airbags will deploy with these afterafter leather?
I would be very leery of any seat cover because of the side air bags. They will always end up slipping and moving around. Then you will end up covering up the side bags.
I would just live with what you have and play it safe.

Ask what company those covers are from. Mines look exactly like those pictured and they are from a company called PECCA, which makes OEM covers for Toyota, Mitsubishi, Ford, etc.
I took mines to a professional shop to do it but it was a bit pricey. I'm sure you could do it yourself if you have the right tools. You gotta take your door panels, front and rear seats a part for the complete leather replacement. It took the shop about 2 days to do the full replacement.
Katzkin is another good choice for leather upholstery, but I would not totally discount the eBay market either. Buy the set you want using PayPal. If it arrives and is not as advertised then you have some leverage to get your money back. Also consider taking a copy of the eBay ad to your local upholstery guy and see what sort of package price he would give you for supplying and installing the leather. Let him make the money on the deal instead of the guy on eBay.

I purchased them for 275 off of ebay and I paid about 700 bucks for installation. You could probably find a cheaper quote in terms of installation though. I just went with a professional installer that lived only 2-3 miles away from me. The other offers I got were as low as 400 bucks for installation.l
The price that it's going for now still isn't that bad on ebay because the Toyota dealers in my area were gonna charge me more than 2500 bucks or more for the complete leather upgrade. You're still gonna end up saving a 1000 bucks or more if you choose to get that kit off of ebay. But make sure that seller and that kit is legit. I have somewhat of a long story to tell about the kit I purchased because it turned out to be stolen goods.
i installed them myself with 2 other friends it wasn't that bad but the kit is a universal kit there are some camry's with no electric seats so they gave 2 electric seats for the fronts also the rear seats were a little tight but they look perfect after a couple of hot days in the sun here in fla.. they will strech and fit well after the install. i have the pics up on cardomain if u want to see them ..
Undoubtedly, your local dealer works with an upholstery shop, which does all of its upholstery work, from installing aftermarket (or OEM equivalent) leather to new cars, to performing warranty upholstery replacement work, to reconditioning upholstery for used cars it takes in as needed before resale.
In the case of my dealer, a guy who works out of a mobile truck comes every Friday morning and takes care of all the dealer's work for the week.
Go find out who your dealer uses. Sales folks may or may not know, but probably the service writers would know. Get a phone number. Give the shop a call.
My bet is that you'd wind up talking with someone who has extensive experience with installing leather in your vehicle, and his prices would probably be right in line with what you might find on eBay or on the Internet. Figure labor at maybe $100 per seat -- call it two front seats and two rear seats. Add some kind of median cost for the leather seat covers themselves that you've seen on eBay and online, and you're probably going to be in the ballpark for what it'll ultimately cost you.
I would sure try that approach before buying anything online, and especially so before trying your luck on eBay.

I had talked to my old salesperson.. She said it's around $1300 installed on a '07 Camry LE (seat cover and leather).
I'm just wondering.. probably will likely pass at it.

OK, that is NOT what I'm recommending.
Skip the dealer -- just find out who does the upholstery work.
Then, go get a quote from the people who actually do the upholstery work.
I expect that the dealer takes a substantial "cut" from that $1,300 they'll charge you to add leather at the time of purchase. And I expect that the upholstery shop would quote you a substantially lower figure, without the dealer getting in the middle of the transaction.

Go check with the upholstery shop!
Just to clarify, that's the price she said that the upholstery shop is asking not the dealer one. She gave me the shop name also.

Yeah. Try to get a direct quote from the shop she mentioned. Try to haggle with them and keep reminding them that you already have the material for them to install.
I had to haggle down from 950 to 750 with a shop that had a very good reputation as most of their work was done for local gmc and ford dealerships. There were other shops that only charged between 400-600 bucks for install but they were a bit shaky in terms of their reputation and work. Just do a little research and try to find the best deal (assuming that you have a number of upholstery shops in your area).
