light swirl scratches on interior console, faceplating around dash plastic

There been several threads addressing those light swirl scratches on the pastic of the dash panels (like around the AC and audio system) and also the clear instrument console/panel. Sometimes they're called spider web scratches, the ones that only become real apparant when the sun hits them just right. Those threads talk about preventing them (with detail brushes, air, and microfiber, etc.) and they talk about Scratch X, which I've used, and I guess seems to helps a bit. But has anyone found a good solution to repairing those scratches? Anything for the clear and/or opaque plastic?

No scratches on my dash but I use this stuff on my racecar gelcoat and it works great. Also fix minor CD scratches with it - pretty much any plastic scratches. Use the fine scratch remover. Marine / boat shops usually carry the stuff. I got mine off of ebay.

Thanks! I'm reading up on NOVUS now. Those fine spider web scratches (from polishing/cleaning) aren't taughted in the ads, but it sounds like this could work. I wonder if anyone has used them on their dash or instrument panel, and can chime in.

Try Meguiar's PlastX. Works fine for me.

I've tried Meguiar's PlastX, and I don't see any real improvement with those really fine scratches. I put it on with applicator and buff it off. Maybe there's a better way? Also, I think the instructions say don't use it on clear plastic (instument panel).

You don't apply it and buff it off, you have to work it in to remove scratches. Well, tecnically you don't remove the scratches, but the material around the scratches. And I think PlastX is MEANT for clear plastic.
