Rear Seatbelt Mechanism

my hooligan cousins were in the back seat of my car when my uncle borrowed my car and they decided to do god knows what and pulled out the passenger side rear seatbelt all the way and now it won't go back, it seems like somethign popped out of place and now it is just all hanging out.

I'm pissed, would something like this be covered under warranty? it's a new car how cheap can this restraint system be?

I can't even reach it to pull it out myself because as far as I can see only the middle belt assembly is visible from the trunk.

any suggestions.

heh, take it to the dealership... personally i don't ever let anyone else drive my car... i'm the only person who ever drives my car and that's not gonna change anytime soon...

Had the same thing happen to me, only it wasn't any cousins. Mine was on the drivers side and we had a car seat buckled in there. Anyway, took the seat out for some reason and the seatbelt wouldn't retract. I took it to the dealer I bought the car from and they replaced it for me. Had to wait for a few days for the part to come in, but figured it wasn't a fast moving part and wasn't surprised they didn't have it in stock. Great people to deal with, glad I bought the car there. Won't mention any names but the dealer is in Astoria, Oregon. And yes, it is under the new car warranty.
