Gen6 Interior plastic panels

Are the interior plastic panels painted or dyed? I just noticed that there is a 4" x 2" area on the panel slightly below the pocket in the driver side foot box where the panel turned completely white as if I rubbed the paint off. Although I doubt that my leg has been rubbing against that panel.

I think it looks dyed.

I guess I should rephrase.

When I say dyed, I meant whether the coloring is in the plastic meaning it goes all the way through rather than just on top.

I don't understand why the panel would have discolored after owning the car for less than 6 months.

Take it back to your dealer. See if they will cover it under warranty. If they won't, ask to have them call you to set up an appointment to show the car to the zone rep, the next time he is at their dealership.

I remember reading somwhere, perhaps on the TMMK page, that many interior parts are painted so as to maintain consistent color.
