For V6's is there a difference between S and D?

Hey guys, i know that you can shift the auto when you put it in S mode. If you put it in S mode and you don't use the shifters, what does it do? Is the shift patterm different from D? thanks!

Think of S as a gear limiter. For example, if you leave S on 4th gear then your automatic tranny will only use the first four gears. It will not shift above 4th and will only hit the rev limiter if attempt to push it beyond 4th gear.

It doesn't work like the old overdrive button. The shifting will be the same.

It will shift exactly like D. You can always make it agressive by going through the gears yourself, and watch out for the redline.
