5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
This question is in regards to the 2007 Camry V6. Was driving the Camry around today; performed as it usually does on the local roads, i merged onto the highway and suddenly started noticing a very loud sound coming from the left rear side of the car. It sounded like something was banging back and forth (The sound was somewhat consistant, thunk, pause, thunk, nothing like the crickets having sex sound). This happened for a few miles and then stopped. After i dropped my friend home i tried to recreate this sound on the way home, nope, nada. My personl pessimisc guess would be that something was lose and fell off, but what are the chances of that? Heck, i'm only at 1000 miles. Should i take it into the dealer to see if everything is intact?

Experiences/suggestions are appreciated.
Sounds like the dealer would want you to recreate it also.
Maybe you want to talk to a service advisor first to see if it rings any bells.

Perhaps you had something stuck on your tire that kept banging your wheel well then eventually fell off. I experienced a similar sound the other day, after stoping and taking a look, it was a popped ballon stuck to my tire and making the thump everytime it hit my wheel well
