Gen6 Dark Charcoal Interior with Black Exterior?

Hi guys,

I'm in the process of buying my second Camry, a black 2007 i4 SE. When the dealer delivered the car, however, they delivered it with an ash grey interior rather than the Dark Charcoal interior I requested. The dealer wants me to take the car anyways and offered to knock off $200 off the price. They also said that they don't make Black exterior Camrys with Dark Charcoal Interiors. After talking to a couple other dealers, they confirmed what my dealer said.

I really had my heart set on the black outside black inside. Does toyota, in fact, make this car? if not, do you think that the dealer's offer is worth it? (they had to have the car delivered several hundred miles, and if I refuse they'll have to deliver it back.)

The car has a moonroof, rear spoiler, and carpet floormats. I paid $21,300 for it. I'm thinking of asking $21,000 flat and for All weather Floormats for their screwup.

What do you guys think?

If you're not truly happy with the interior, just return it. Who knows, you might regret settling later on over a few hundred bucks.

Thanks for the reply,

It doesn't bother me too much, I just think the particular color scheme is a bit odd.

The rest of the car is amazing, so i think its' really a question more of how much I can squeeze out of the dealer.

if its not what you ordered, dont accept it.. i think u will eventually kick yourself in the butt for not getting what you exactly wanted. that car was probably stock they are trying to get rid of and are just saying this is "your car"

keep

i think you should keep it make them throw in all weather mats.. and go for it with the 200.00 off.. and remeber im in the south and ur in cali .. so the heat is horrible black car with charcoal interior is almost suicide lol .. it will be hot .. i think the light grey color is good if thats what you got .. be like a white car with tan interior .. go together great .. dark charcoal and grey go togther perfectly .. i dont think u will regret it .. and the mats are actually a blackish grey .. the all weather mats for the carmy or tan .. but the blackish grey look nice with the light grey interior i got it and love it get tons of compliments on the contrast .. but do whatever you want boss .. your car .. holla

The black SE DOES come with Dark Charcoal leather interior. i believe 'GENSIXER' and 'smeg' on this forum both have a Gen6 SE with the black exterior and dark charcoal interior. Toyota.com will also allow you to 'build' a car with this combination.

your dealer is trying to screw you over. buy the car that you want, not the car that they have. you will only end up regretting it later.

You will spend more time looking at the interior than exterior. Make sure you are happy with your decision. It is you that have to live with it....not us.

Yep, it does come black on black. I'm located in Chicago, so I'm not sure if it's a regional difference.

I'd only agree to take it if they knock that $200 and toss in floormats, door sill enhancements, and lojack or extended warranty or something. It's their fault, have them pay. B

I'm sorry, i should have been more specific with the type of interior. I didn't go for the leather upgrade, so it's the sport cloth seats. After checking on Toyota.Com, i found out that you can also go black on black with the sport cloth seats.

Does anyone on here have a black se with the dark charcoal sport cloth interior?

The SE is hard to come by.

I take it as it is and see how much he is willing to take off the price and what extra stuff he is willing to throw in there.

Is he holding the car for you? If not, you better make your decision quick because as soon as it hits in the parking lot for sale, it will be gone.

I highly doubt that he will ship it back to the factory.

Actually, I'm making the purchase through a third party who ordered the car from a dealer in california. the company itself doesn't have a storage facility, so when they make a sale, they have the dealer deliver the car to the customer. right now the car is in my possession. I'm supposed to let the company know by the end of this week of my decision. If I refuse, they'll have to ship the car back to the dealer that they ordered it from.

$200.00? That's IT? Screw that.

The dark charcoal is what makes the SE look really good. I wish they offered that on the XLE. I would not take that from them. They are pulling a fast on on you.

$200.00?....what a load of dung. Get a extended warranty out of it on top of the $200.00. That should give you around $1500.00 off...give or take a few dollars.
