Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Anyone here who has the rear bumper applique can they take a pic of it, all the pictures i've seen of it online makes it hard to see how it looks like.. i'm thinking of getting it for my magnetic grey metallic camry, is it worth it?
It is basically a clear plastic sheet that lays on the top pf the bumper. It protects it when you lay packages on there when opening/closing the trunk.
I had one on my LE. Nothing special. I "thought" I was getting a rubber piece to lay there like on a SUV/Truck. I had pics posted last year when I had that installed on my LE which I traded in for the XLE last January.

It will save it from scratches. That is really what it is for. You can't see it all that well...it is transparant. There is a Toyota Name on it so other then that you have a hard time actually telling if it is there.
I think it is worth it if you are fussy about scratching your paint.

It's barely noticeable on a clean car, but i've seen some Camry's that are pretty dirty and it makes the edge of the applique noticable.
it's a bit expensive for a clear piece of plastic..
they don't have it as an option here in canada... and on ebay it's like about 60-70 USD shipped to canada..
It is a bitch to put on. It took the dealership 3 tries to get mine on right. (with out air bubbles) So I didn't even pay for mine. The Service Manager was going to give it to me for $45.00 out the door. After all those "tries" he just gave it too me...

I would say you should get it....the reason is that it would probley cost you about $200 to paint the rear bumper if you got a scratch on it....or you could pay $70 to save you a headache later......your choice
Install was easy just make sure to strip the wax of the area you are going to be aplying the part to.....then mix water with a hint of soap and spray it on the part and the bumper lay it down and you a 4" squeegie to remove the bubbles and the water.....about 20min no more give it about 24hrs to dry
thanks
