Toyota Stock Audio CD System

I have said in a prior post that I ordered a 2007 LE V6, pretty much bare bones, except for VSC, Body Side Moldings, and Floor Mats. We decided to not opt for the JBL system, b/c the need of the 6 cd changer was not necessary. The Blue Tooth seemed interesting however. But, we just went with the basic stock cd player, b/c we will primarily use our ipods. I did listen to both radios, but to truly enjoy the systems, a cd would have had to be played, which was not available (yeah, I know I could have asked for one). I thought the standard system was plenty good enough...but now I am having second thoughts...I can make changes to the car, up til tomorrow...and am debating whether I should opt for the more expensive JBL system and spend at least $750 more, if they will sell it at invoice.

Right now I am leaning towards leaving good enough alone...and not making the change. For 750 I can get a heck of a system, and I already use the headset blue tooth when on longer trips...and there is no way my wife could ever figure out the bluetooth with her phone...she is just not wired that way, so to speak.

thank for the help!

I had the regular stock system in my LE and I can tell you the JBL is far better. (I have the JBL now in my XLE) Deeper, richer sounding. The stock one wasn't "bad" but it sounded tinnier to me... Also with the JBL you have the option to get a Sat-Radio built in and I simply LOVE Sat-Radio.

There are those here that will only go with after market sound systems but the JBL is one of the best stock "up-grade" systems I have heard.

I would think hard about looking at the JBL. At least test drive (with a CD or two of your choice) and make the comparison. Jump in and out of both cars with and without JBL and listen to your own CD's. I would use a classical CD for one of them.
