03 LE seat creaking

The electric driver seat on my 03 LE has been making a creaking sound when you adjust it in one certain spot.

Took it to the dealer and their suggestion was to replace the wholeseatback for $1,000+. I'm sure this is something as simple as spraying wd-40 or placing some power at the position where its creaking. I just want to double check first though.

Please advise.

You will have to be far more specific in your description. For instance, what part of the seat creaks (bottom, back, side bolsters)? Under what conditions does it creak?

The seat creaks primarily when I lean back and the noise comes from the lower portion of the seat, probably where the back meats the cushion.

Dealers are not prepared to repair a seat. They can replace parts and rebuild it, but if a seat needs a new rivot or repair that might require spot welding, well, the dealer wants to sell you a new frame, not weld the old one. Try to find an auto interior shop in your area that would be willing to take a look. You'd have better luck with them.
