Question 2007 Camry Body Side Moldings

Hello -

On order is a 2007 Camry LE V6 with Body Side Moldings. We decided to opt for these as a preventative measure to give our new car a fighting chance against the morons and dumb college kids around our home (Kalamazoo, Michigan). I have noticed that most of you, on here, do not have these side moldings installed. Is there a reason, or is it purely aesthetic preferences? Thanks for the conversation!

Most people on here come into realization that you can't prevent your car from getting hit by opening doors. For instances, by SUVs, trucks, etc. And besides, the car looks better without it.

After 8 months of having the mouldings,I just took them off.
The Camry looks so much better without them.
I was parking a mile away from other cars in lots anyway.

Was it easy enough to remove them? Our car is already ordered, so it is coming with them...it is too late to change now.

Oh well, I guess if we like them, we have them, and if we don't we will attempt to remove them.

Thanks!

The side moulding only have a 1/4 or so inch wide piece of two sided tape along the top and the bottom.
Heat them and they come off pretty easy.

My XLE came with them - I kinda like them. I know the car doesn't stand a snow ball's chance in hell of preventing dings from every kinds of door out there. But heck, it gives me peace of mind so I dont regret it at all. Besides, I paid invoice for the car and got them free...

I agree. I actually like them too. I ordered them on our 07 XLE. I think the lines make the car appear longer. Again, this is all personal preference.
