Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I didn't want to thread jack so i started a new one.
Is it possible for me to keep my SE Grille...and cut outthe plastic mesh and replace it? I'd pull of the T as well. but i would replace it with a Dale Sr car emblem (like i have on the back, but it's a Dale Jr one..Yes i'm addicted to NASCAR).
the reason i don't just replace the emblem, is because the gray paint is flaking off and it looks horrible, so i want to either get a new SE grille altogether or just mod my current one.
Working on an LT1 is harder than doing anything on a Camry.
I don't think it's hard but I have alot of experience wrenching. Make sure you get a new gasket before you take the EGR valve off. The dealer should have it in stock. You'll be fine.

Alright, i'll do that. I'll ask my friend to help too he's good with cars.

Doing it yourself is the best way to learn. Print the procedure out from the online manual. Then just take your time and pay attention to what your doing. It's not a race, so make sure you leave yourself plenty of time to do it. Nothings worse than when things aren't going your way and you need the car to do something.
Have a designated area to put all tools and fasteners as you work. That way you don't have to set things where they can fall into the engine area and get lost. That can fukk up your day too.
Since my grille is flaking i looked, and it's chrome under the black..so there someway i can get all the black off so it would be chrome? that would make me happy until i can afford a new grille.
