5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I have read everyones feedback on their rides and I seem to find a damn near 50/50 consensus on which springs to buy. The two choices that keep coming up are the Eibach Pro-Kit Springs and TRD Springs.
Please tell me which you prefer and why and post some pics of your rides. I know their is a slight height difference between TRD and Eibach but what about ride and overall look?
that i don't know, but from what i have read (i been researching springs myself) It depends on your car, if it's a V6 it'll lower it more because of the weight. That's what i get from reading anyway. Someone correct me if i'm wrong please.
I have the Eibach's on my Gen6 and they work great no problems what so ever, and yes trd's are basically rebadged eibachs

I have seen both the TRD and Eibach drop in person. I definately believe that TRD is slightly lower. IMO. Not a lot but slightly. Keep in mind both were V6's. I am not disagreeing that TRD=Eibach, but I saw them both and TRD seems lower???

why not consider H&R... personally i don't have experience with eibach or TRD, but from what i've heard, H&R gives you a slightly firmer ride and better steering response... hell they have a whole thing on tirerack comparing eibach with H&R....

Are the springs made by H&R out for the 07 Camrys??
I went with the TRD springs because I am building my own personal version of an 07 TRD Camry and wanted to stay true to the brand. Plus there is not much of a price difference between the two. There is a pic of my Camry with the springs installed in the following link....
I like the TRD springs because they're Toyota branded. Also, if you're willing to pay for the dealer to install them, you can keep your warantee.
I was just about to make this point. TRD = factory product that keeps suspension under warranty (if installed by dealer). Eibach = aftermarket product that voids your warranty regardless of who installs them.

Wouldn't the Magnusson Moss Act protect your warranty regardless? Especially seeing as you could easily prove that the Eibach are the same design as the TRD and therefore can not be detrimental to the operation of the vehicle as far as the warranty is concerned. Should go the same for installation. Of course, having TRD installed at the dealer would require no effort to make your case...but your rights under warranty wouldn't be affected either way.

It just make things easier when you have Toyota (TRD) parts. I took the car to the dealership because I needed a 4 wheel alignment (I told them that it was pulling to the left). They did a 4 wheel alignement for me under warranty (car only has 4,890 miles) and went on my merry way. They did not question once about the springs because they are factory TRD along with the wheels so they abviously thought that is the way it came from the factory.

Yes and no. Everything in the car would keep it's warrantee except the springs unless they are TRD branded.
