i drove a gen 5.5 camry Se at work the other day, and i have to say i love its optitron gauge cluster more than my standard one in my gen 5 SE....my question is would it be possible to swap out my factory gauges and replace them with the optitron unit from a gen 5.5? any help would be awesome.
thanks,
C
so many wires going to the cluster. you can probably compare both from the online manual. i would not think is worth the expense and the headaches from the swap.
What is the optitron? I know the gauges are lit up better with better LEDS as ours ar eonly lit up with i think its called SMT LEDS...or something like that. Can we get some pics of this?
i figured it would be an electrical nightmare, but hey i thought id give it a shot....
i love those gauges...although the 05-06 LE and XLE white gauges are pretty sweet as well, i love the amber gauges

if you're willing to take the risk or have the skills, you could try replacing the white/green SMT LEDs with amber. i have experience with soldering SMT LEDs, and i'll tell you... its not easy. there was a thread and or car domain page showing how it was done... in fact i think it was a gen 5.
