Gen5 Steering wheel radio controls on aftermarket radio

A friend and I recently put in an Alpine CDA-9883 in an '05 and we don't know if there's a way to connect the steering wheel radio controls to the new head unit. We've tried looking here and other places on the internet.

If there's a way to do it please let me know.

Thanks

I remember seeing a discussion about it here. Do a search here and you should be able to find it.

And yes, it can be done.

hmm i dont know if that would work with a dvd type unit. my in dash eclipse dvd lets you scroll up and down and press a select button to play. there would be no button on my steering wheel controls that would be in place of a select button
