Plant = R?

Does anyone know what plant R is in the VIN number (11th position)? I haven't found anything on the internet or by searching these forums. This is on a new 2007 Camry LE 4cyl. Thanks!

You sure its R? Because R is not one of the listed plants, Unless that is the digit for the new line in the Subaru plant in Indiana?

What's the colour code part of the VIN? I've always wanted to learn how to read a VIN.

Actually, you know what. Double check your Vin on your car. My vin decoder is saying that the vin you typed in is not correct.

There's a few posts on this forum on how to read a VIN number. I used wikipedia to decode mine.

We don't pick up the car until Thursday. There are numerous Camry's with a plant code of R on this Toyota dealers inventory page. Just hold your mouse over the arrow on the left to see the VIN number in the link. The other strange thing in the VIN is Vehicle type(position 3) is 4 which supposedly means Truck. All the ones with a plant code of R have 4 as the vehicle type.

The 4T4 denotes the Indiana plant made by Subaru. The sticker in the driver door sill should also day something about that--wondering if it says it was made by Toyota MM or Subaru/SAI?

Thanks, I'll take a look at it when we pick it up. I was just perplexed by the plant code.
