navigation AVN 5500 install questions

hi all

Yesterday I went out and bought the eclipse avn 5500 for my 2005 camry xle with the JBL system. I have a few questions about the install

While using the search feature on this forum, I found out that the eclipse units are "plug and play" as far as factory harness, but I have had some conflicting reports that it will NOT work with the JBL factory amp.. Is that true??? Is there anyway I can use this amp to power the speakers??

if I decide to bypass the amp will it harm the origional speakers in the system? I could have swarn that I have more then just 4 speakers in the car???

I have an analog JBL system by the way if that makes any differences.. I dont mind catching the VSS wire, reverse wire, or parking brake wire.. that should not be a problem

thank you in advance

i am not sure about the plug and play of eclipse units, but i do know that you can bypass the factory amp. are you going to still use the stock speakers though? if so, then you might have to run your own wires. it might be easier to get a good component set and an amp for them to go with that 8v preout monster PM for more info on bypassing the amp. no one else on here seems to know the answer.

also, where in ny do u live, maybe i can help you out in person

I was hoping not to upgrade the speakers since I cant seem to find any that will fit the door openings and I really didnt want to take the door pannels off..

for my taste the JBL seems to be fine.. just wanted to add the nav and not have to spend 2700 at the local toyota dealer....
