camry's do not need ext warr. if they did, why bother buying a camry.
While I share your optimism to a certain extent, I think I'd like one for piece of mind - especially considering the transmission issues.
I have yet to experience any flares - but $880 over possibly 7 years of ownership seems like a fair deal. It's something to look into, at the very least.
Is this the bumper to bumper warranty to 100K, road hazard to 3yrs, and maintenance to 45K? I just bought that today from my dealer for a hell of a lot more that $880.

Yea, I live in Gulf States region and the dealer can't compete with the national extended warranty plan. The dealer up in Mass sells it for 880 and its the 7 year, 100k mile, zero deductible bumper to bumper warranty. I haven't bought it yet and won't for awhile. I still need to talk to my service people here to see how much of a hassle it is to do the paperwork. Anything under such a warranty requires them to file a claim.
