5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
xenondepot no longer sells H11 4300k HID kit, where else should I get it from?
I'm trying to convert my '07 Camry's headlights to HID. My other three cars/trucks
all came with 4300k HID from the car manufacturers. I always buy cars with the HID
option if offered. Unfortunately, Toyota does not offer it for the 2007 Camry.
According to Xenondepot, the H11 4300k xenondepot HID kit will no longer be available....
I'm not interested in 6000k HID, since all my other vehicles have 4300k....
Is there a reliable source, other than Xenondepot, to get a high-quality H11 4300k HID
conversion kit?
but based on the threads I searched here, I was under the impression that
the "xtreme HID" kit from xenondepot was subpar, no?
I'm almost certain that it is, but since the Xtreme HID kit from XD is pretty new, we have to wait a little bit. If a year from now you hear about all those people that got it complaining about busted ballasts... then yes. Until then, only time will tell.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.

so... back to my original question.... where can I find a reputable company that
sells a reliable H11 4300k HID conversion kit? I'm willing to spend more money, as
long as it's a quality product.
Thanks!

Busted ballasts are not a problem when the initial cost is just $225, and the labor hours are 1 hour or less.

The initial cost and labor hours have nothing to do with the quality. Mike was commenting on the quality which happens to be what the thread is about. OEM equipment is practically always better quality than the average plug and play kit but no one is trying to start one of "those debates".

The XenonDepot kit uses Phillips bulbs and ballasts. You can make your own reliable kit if you wanted to. All you'd have to do is buy a quality pair of H11 HID bulbs (Phillips or OSRAM), Phillips ballasts, and make or buy a wiring harness. You'll get the same quality, and probably less cost, of a XenonDepot kit, and it'll last you as long as any OEM HIDs (about 7 years with regular use).
This way, you're not stuck paying $225 every year for a new kit.

^Well that depends on what you ordered. The XenonDepot kit should be good quality (although personally, I don't recommend 6000K+ kits) since it uses Phillips products.
If you ordered the Xtreme kit, then quality is unknown as of now, since its a new product. People went ahead and bought the Xtreme kits because they figured, "hey, the XD kits are great quality, these should be too" but I wouldn't have been so quick to jump on that bandwagon. Just because a company releases a good product does not mean another part of their product line won't suck. Either way, we don't know yet... it might be good quality, it might not. Like I said in the earlier post in this thread, we'll find out if a bunch of people's ballasts start dying next summer.

I'm kind of confused at this point....
Xenondepot no longer sells the H11 4300k kit with Philips bulb/ballast. If that's the case,
what will happen to people who have bought this kit and now need a new bulb?
Does Xenondepot still have H11 bulbs rebased from Philips bulbs?
I thought about just going for one of the remainnig H11 6000k Xenondepot kits, but I
don't want to end up having nowhere to find replacement H11 6000k bulb rebased from
Philips bulbs in the future....
Another option is to create a XenonDepot HID kit. All the components are on the website. They just dont sell them in a kit any more.
The H11 4300K bulbs are there. All you have to do is buy the ballast and wiring harness and you have your kit. The price will not be cheap though because one ballast and ignitor will run you about $170 and then each bulb is $115 and then each wiring harness is $40. All together you are looking at a $650 kit.
I cried doing that math. The price is heavy but it is all quality parts.
