I just change a new battery and the car keep dying at idle if the gas pedal is not pressed. How to adjust idle on this electronic throttle by wire? Thanks.
that happened on my Z24, when the battery died. The computer has to relearn the idle. It can do it on it's own over time (sometimes) but it's not very safe driving it that way. I'd take it in to either Toyota or a trust shop and they can reflash the computer and it will relearn the idle.
^No, its fine. Just drive it. It'll take a little bit but it will relearn the idle on its own. I've done this several times, when I changed my battery, when I did my retrofit and had to remove the battery to hide a ballast in that general area, when I seafoamed and had to reset the ECU 'cause I got a CEL, etc. It will be fine. Just keep it from stalling and you'll be fine.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.
hm this one time i took my battery out to get rid of all the corrosion and clean up the terminals. never had this problem when i started it up .. werid. i was actually expecting to get it too
^Sometimes it doesn't happen. I've had my battery disconnected before for like 30 minutes, and it didn't reset the ECU. I've had the battery disconnected other times for like 15 minutes, and it did reset the ECU. Usually you know its reset 'cause when you first start the car, the gauges go crazy for a second .

Most carmakers including Toyota have a sort of backup system for when the battery is unhooked. I believe its a got a 2 or 3 minute delay before it totally shuts off and the computer gets reset. All ya gotta do is just get on the highway or something and drive drive drive for like 30 mins, race the engine and let it go and it'll be fine. This happens especially for people with aftermarket intakes cuz u got a higher airflow so it has to relearn everything.
I co-sign what WhiteChocolate and AceVentura said....

i can tell you that i bought a shitty aftermarket intake for my gen 5.5 and it did the same thing, turns out the mass air flow sensor was sitting alittle too high in the pipe and was not perfitly straight in the intake tube. i also reset the computer several times (and by the way toyota tech's say that it could take several hours before the new ECU's will loose their memory, not 30 min's). solution you ask? i bought a more exspensive intake for an 05 scion TC, becasue at the time i could'nt find one for my gen 5.5 with the I4. not saying thats what wrong here, it's just meirly a suggeston.

Toyota techs say a whole lot of nonsense. Just because someone is a tech doesn't mean they know what they are talking about. The fact of the matter is that I've reset my ECU before in 15 minutes. And its never taken longer than 30.

This happened to me awhile back. If its not electrical problems you have to remove the whole filter assembly and clean the throtle body with throtle body cleaner. It happens when you have not clean the throtle body for a long time. There are residuals build up in the throtle body preventing the air from entering the system. When there is no air your car will consequently die. There is a flap inside the throtle body that open when you start your car. It allows air to enter the throtle body so your car would idle. When you step on the gas pedle the flap opens larger and allows more air come in. So make sure the throtle body.
