Gen6 Transmission FLARE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had problems with the transmission flare since I bought the car, the transmission has been replaced once before. It has started all again. Going to the dealer tomorrow, I might get a buy back. If so I'll go for a 335i.

What should I do if I don't get a buy back?

Lexus buys back. Toyota just doesn't unless you have exhausted all requirements of your state's lemon law. Ask them to flash the TCM to the new version. It apparently fixed mine.

Bought my '07 in October '06... about to roll over 15,000 miles... and I STILL have no idea what you people are talking about. I haven't had any "flare" issues... so I'm just going to assume you are all insane. Every single one of you.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.

My second trans was re-programmed(their description) a month ago . No visible signs of shift/flare yet. Wait and see.

No flare on my transmission. I've had the car since Dec 06 and driven some 5500 miles. It's difficult to get it into second when cold but otherwise no issues. I guess the oil needs to splash around an warm up some. I've been told the stuff flows like molasses when cold.

I see you are a student at Cal State Northridge. This means you are young and know it all. In ten years and less wise, you might appreciate that not all of these cars have the problem, that much of the issue is the result of driving habits the first five minutes, and if you parked the car in my driveway and I left with it in the morning there is a better than even chance that the flare would present itself. Just because you behave in a arrogant manner does not mean that all college students behave in an arrogant manner or are insane or idiots. It's just you. Why not post comments about something you might have some knowledge about rather than topics which apparently haven't affected you.

Some of us don't appreciate your humor. You can have that stick placed wherever you choose, but be happy I'm not one of your profs. I'd find a place that YOU could stick it.

If you don't appreciate my humor, then continue being a frigid asshole if you must. But I'm pretty sure you're about the only loser that took offense to that. I bet you're one of those liberal PC douches. Keep doin' what you're doin', guy.

If I'm the only reader who is offended by being called insane and an asshole for discussing an endemic problem, then that really doesn't speak well of the other readers. Grow up. Glad your car works. It won't always, and when it fails you might want help from one of us insane folks. It's just a discussion group about auto issues after all. If you have nothing to contribute, and it seems that you don't aside from flapping gums, then bow out until you can. Toyota didn't write 3 technical bulletins to their dealers explaining how to try to fix a problem because a handful of people imagined a problem.

If u look at his post... he did put a " " after what he said so thats a good indication he was fucking around. Just because its a car forum doesn't mean we cant joke around a lil. So leave white alone. He is a respected member here on the forum and he is very informative and knows what hes talking about..

The flare is only for the V6's 6-spd tranny, not the I4's 5-spd.
