Does 07 Camry's factory radio connector plug into back of Eclipse 5510 nav receiver?

This is on a 2007 Camry LE with base(non-JBL) radio.

(1)
Does the Toyota factory radio connector plug into back of Eclipse 5510 nav receiver?
Or is it necessary to get a Metra wiring harness?

(2)
What about the steering wheel control connector, how is it connected between the Eclipse
and the Toyota wiring?

Thanks!

You would have to buy a metra wiring harness, but the steering wheel connector is a direct plug in. That is why i love eclipse units. We can just connect the steering wheel directly into the unit.

THANKS! That's just the answer I was looking for.... I guess the most logical choice
is for me to go with Eclipse nav systems!

Dear krouchchocolate,

I read what your wrote regarding the Eclipse nav unit.

Circuit City currently has my 2007 Camry LE all taken apart.
The installer claims it's not possible to do a direct "plug & play"
between the Eclipse AVN5510 and 07 Camry's steering wheel
audio control... I even made him call Eclipse's tech
support dept in California. They told him it's a direct plug
in, but offered no info on where or how...

Could you give me a little advice on how you were able to
connect this directly?

Thank you for your assistance!

Kat

tell the boys at circuit city theyre full of this. the steering wheel connection is striaght up plug and play. i'm sure you can look at the plugs and distinguish them and plug em in yourself. as to the rest of it, while it doesn't require a kit, it is not 100% plug and play. my audio guy had to do some soldering to get it working. i kind of feel sorry for you because as you're basically their guinea pig and hasn't ever done a 07 camry since it's quite clear that he took it apart and can't put it back together. my suggestion is you tell the guy to put the stock system back together again, return the unit and go to someone who actually knows what they're doing. my audio guy did it in 2 hours only because we had lunch while we waited an hour for the part to show up.

ask them to use every plugin from the car and try to plug it in the back of the radio. They will eventually get it right.

It's kind of hard to not be able to discern Molex plugs from one another and find the female receptacle. It takes purposeful ignorance.

On the back of the 5510, plug 16P (looking from the rear view it is the plug that goes just to the right of the furthest plug on the lower left) has the Subwoofer Line Out, Speed Pulse, Parking Brake, Reverse, Video Out, and STEERING WHEEL CONTROL (which is done via plug 20p).
