5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Well, I ordered a '04 Camry XLE V6 today! I really wanted the 3.3 engine but it's only available in the SE and I prefer the interior of the XLE over the SE....but I would like to have the stiffer suspension of the SE.
Vehicle Model 2554 (XLE V6)
HVAT - Premium Plus Package (which includes almost everything)
HDAT - Heated Seats
E5 - Exhaust Tip by Valor
MG30 - Mud Guards
PV50 - Floor Mats
Lunar Mist Metallic (01C8) w/ Stone Leather Interior
The car should be available in late August or early September depending on if my dealer's order gets in the assembly line when they happen to be installing heated seats since heated seats are not all that commonly ordered.
My cost will be $400 below dealer's invoice plus tax, license and transfer fee.
I've been driving a '03 LE 4 cylinder dealer demo for a month while waiting to order my car. Only a few weeks to a month more... I'm looking forward to getting it.
Thanks! I'm quite sure I will be pleased with it. I had a '97 XLE V6 and a '99 ES300 and really enjoyed both cars. I'm looking forward to seeing how the VVT-i V6 engine performs along with the new 5-speed automatic transmission. [I really wanted that new 3.3L engine but I'm not willing to wait until Toyota runs out of their inventory of 3.0L engines, which is when they will start using the 3.3L in the Camry LE and XLE...expected to be sometime after the beginning of '05 depending on sales of V6 Camry models.]

PS - I'm located in Winston-Salem so I'm very familiar with Greensboro. Hope you're enjoying CA...

I'm not sure exactly what my total cost will be because I don't know if Toyota is changing any prices for '04. It's believed that the pricing of the '04 will remain the same as the '03 model. If that's the case the dealer cost will be around $25,400 and they will discount $400 from that figure, so my cost should be around $25,000 before tax, license and transfer fee is added.

Don't u have an SE already?
and teach me how to get to drive a dealer demo for a few months
No, I do not have a SE. There is a thread here in which it was suggested that I get a '04 SE because it will have the 3.3L V6 engine that I was hoping to get in the XLE...but I'm not interested in the SE because it doesn't have the interior I want. But I would like to have that 3.3L engine and stiffer suspension!
My local Toyota dealer is very large and has numerous demo cars that often go unused. This Toyota dealership is part of a conglomerate that has dealerships for Lexus, BMW, VW, Chevy, Buick, etc., etc. I have been a buyer of numerous BMWs, Lexus' and Toyotas over the years...so I'm guessing they offered me a demo to drive until my new Camry comes in as an appreciation for my business over the years. I've had the demo since around July 4th and my new Camry should be in by early September or so.
