Hi guys. I've been reading this forum for a while now and find most people on here very interesting/entertaining. Reading these forums is definitely a nice way to help the work day go by. hehe Anyway, my dad was driving my mom's Camry to work yesterday in the dark and a deer ran out in front of him and he ended up hitting it. Thought you all might want to see why it would be a good idea to avoid a deer if at all possible. It's gonna cost $2,000 to fix, but the insurance is covering it 100%.
I also bought a Camry yesterday! It's a blue ribbon CE stick. Only option I got was floor mats. I plan on doing a few mods to it right away, but I'm picky so I'll have to take my time to make sure I find the exact items I want. First mod will be taking the CE badge off. lol
Yep, it's an XLE with Nav, leather, moonroof. All the goodies. I love driving that car, but I'm glad I'm not the one that wrecked it!
Thanks. I was also looking at a hybrid, but I would rather customize a car to my liking than drive around in a stock car for the price difference between the two.
^^Haha! Yea, I don't think the deer fared too well. The head hit the bumper and then it swung around and hit the side of the car and then flew into the ditch. It bent the fender and drivers door. I have two more pics but couldn't figure out how to get more than one in the post. The door isn't too bad. They are replacing the fender tho. I wish they would replace the door too panel, but I have no luck telling my insurance company how to fix a car....
Looks like a $3,000 dollar repair job. Insurance will take care of it, plus deductable. sorry to see the sort of damage, but those dang deers... I hit one a while back too. up in the northern part of New York State. creepy feeling. good luck with the repair shop.

How's this for a deer story. One day in the parking lot at college i was lookin for a spot and a dude in this old tacoma backed into my right quarter panel. He didn't have an actual bumper, instead he had welded rebar for a bumper. As you can imagine, it quite literally tore through the panel like paper. Smashed the headlight too. Insurance paid for it. 2 weeks later I'm comin home and turn onto my street. One deer runs in front of me, another deer smashes into the same panel I just had fixed, and another deer almost came through the passenger window into the seat. Worst part of it was that the deer that hit me got away. I wanted to tear that thing apart I was so pissed. Called insurance company. They asked, "did you wash the car yet?" "no, and why does that matter?" They said "because we need to be able to see if there's any hair or blood left from the deer to prove that's what it was" I said "but the deer ran off, it didnt explode!" they say "but then how do we know you actually hit a deer" I said "Well if you'd like I can go to my backyard, shoot a deer, throw it on my hood, and take a picture. Does that work for you?" They transferred me to another agent who gave me instant approval for the repairs. LOL
Damn. Gotta hate when your car gets wrecked multiple times and none of them are your fault. I'm guessing you had your window up or it sounds like you would have had a new passenger with you. haha That almost happened to me once. I was driving home in the dark on a 2 lane highway in my Mustang. Had the top down and three deer ran out right in front of me. I swervered into the other lane since no one was coming and the leading deer somehow jumped straight up into the air. I thought for sure he was coming into the car. I had 2 passengers with me too. Not sure what would have happened if he had made it in. I bet he wouldn't have been to friendly.
