double-din opening trim piece for '07, which is better? The Scosche or the Metra kit?

I bought one from Scosche, but it had a small half-inch dimple on the right, so I exchanged it... the next three all had various other small defects... so I gave up and got a refund. (perhaps they were all from the same batch) While the color/finishe matched 99% to the Toyota panels, the texture is different. The original Toyota silver trim piece is nice and smooth. The Scosche piece felt rough, but still acceptable.

I found out that Metra also makes one for the '07 Camry.... Has anyone used the Metra one?

Is there any difference between the two, or perhaps they were even made by the same manufacturer?

Thansk for any info...

I think hybridamp had the Metra Kit and was happy with the fit. Some pictures of the Scorche kit looked like the corners were a bit off.

Not in our Camry, but in my F-150, the Metra kit was 1000x better.

I don't even remember anymore, it was over 4 years ago! That car is long gone!

Just received the Metra kit today.

Now I'm torn between the two.

The Metra kit has a flatter, unblemished surface, but the Scosche kit has a much smoother
touch, just like the original Toyota trim. Under outdoor direct sunlight, the Scosche's
color is much closer to the original trim pieces on the Camry.

Neither is perfect.

I'm going to reserve my final decision once my nav/amps/speakers/subs are installed next week.
