Gen6 Spare Remote Key Question

Is it possible to program the remote on an 07 SE by yourself, or do you need to go to the dealer? I have an dodge that I was able to program myself, but not sure if the toyota is the same. If not possible, any idea how much it costs to program a spare remote? I'm interested in gettting another spare since I already lost the dodge key and they wanted $250 for a new one.

you can definately program the key yourself .... you just need to find the procedure ... I believe I saw it floating around here a while back. ... as far as those of us with the smart key, we're SOL! I haven't seen any smart key programming instructions around though!

Thanks for replying. I'll keep searching this forum for the instructions. However, I can't seem to find sympathy for those have the smart key -- I'm jealous I guess.

It is great ... I do wish that Toyota gave you a leather case (like Lexus) for the damn thing to protect it when you gotta give it to the valet!

Good Luck

Programming takes about 1 hour for as many as you want. The key itself will run you about $250+

OK, so I should have the dealer do it? Do you know what the going rate for an hour of labor is in MD?
