Gen6 RPMs drop real low on 2007 camry I4 Manual

Ive got an 07 camry se I4 with manual transmission. Once the car has warmed up, when I come to a stop the RPMs drop real low to the point that the car acts like it is about to stall, the issue is much more noticable when the A/C is turned on. My car idles around 500 RPMs when warm. Does anyone else have this problem with their camry? What RPMs are people seeing in their cars at idle when warm?

It's an 07. It's under warranty, unless you already have 36,000 miles on it. Take it back to the dealer and let them know of the problem. There should be an idle-up circuit that activates when the A/C is on. It's obviously not functioning properly. Let the dealer repair it.

Seems like 900 might be a tad high but maybe it's needed to keep the a/c running? What's the book value for idle? Anyone know?

Look at this way , a a/c capacity is measured in pounds. A small car a/c will be put a load of 500 lbs on the engine. That is like 2 guys of my size in the car.At idle with a/c on the car is still lugging 500 lbs at low rpm which pulls the rpm down.

increase the idle by 200 rpm and you will notice improvement.

As it gets hotter more the a.c loads the weather the engine feels.

There's nothing to explain. Tell the dealer to raise the default idle level.

I have an I4 manual and the idle is around 800 to 900 when warm.

THe average idle for a I4 car is about 800-900. 500 is way too low. Dealership, now, quick!

Sounds like it has a GM built truck engine in it.
