Gen6 Will I need new wheel nuts when switching 07 steel wheel to 50th anniv edition wheel?

***EDIT***
I just found the answer to my question.

The parts manager opened a wheel for me. Here's what's inside the box: wheel, 5 wheel nuts, center cap, and 8 page instructions.

The instructions are rather long. It has step-by-step details on removing the tire from the OE steel wheel, removing the TPMS tire sensor, reinstalling the tire sensor, installing the tire, valve, cap, balancing instructions, etc, etc..... I'm almost positve that the Toyota technicians at the dealship will not even look at the instructions...

YES, you will need new lug nuts, the ones on the steel rims are not what you want to use on the alloy wheels

^What Eyekutr said. Lugs used for steel wheels are no good for alloys.

They may work, but they would look horrible when you can see them, and I think that the steelie nuts are a bit bigger, but im not entirely sure.

like I mentioned, Toyota includes all required new wheel nuts and center caps, when you
order any accessory wheels from the parts dept.

no point in using the steel wheel's nuts when new wheel nuts are included on the new wheels.

okay, I think that's enough talk about nuts... sooner or later someone is going to post that
famous squirrel picuture from the internet. Oh wait, here it is:

Instead of that famouts squirrel pictures which may be considered against forum rules,
I give you this squirrel picture instead...

the steelies, should use a 'acorn' style wheel nut, while the base of the alloy ones should be more flat..

they should paint those steelies silver instead of using those ugly hubcaps. that's what i'm planning on doing with my steelies in the winter.

Agreed. The only positive thing I can say about the steel wheels is that I wouldn't mind damaging them while parallel parking. The hubcaps are only $20 each....

The '07 Camry came with tiny spare tires. I plan to take one of the tireless steel wheels and mount a tire on it. It will become my full-size spare tire. However, I'm wondering if the 215/60/16 tire will fit in the trunk... Has anybody tried this?

Thanks!

sorry guys, I'll search next time.... sometimes I just start typing without thinking....

I already got a new tire mounted on the steel wheel and it has gone into the spare wheel
well. Perfect fit. No more worrying about having to stay below 500mph using the temp
spare tire.

The Camry steel wheel is so darn heavy! It weighs at least 1/3 more than the 50th Anniversary
accesory alloy wheel.... with the four tireless steel wheels in the trunk of my '07 Camry,
the rear end was riding about 1.5 inch lower.

Something else I just realized.... the dealer didn't even ask me where the wheel lock was.
(it was in my garage at home) Apparently they have a master wheel lock key that can
open all wheel locks... then what's the point of using a wheel lock in the first place? A
car wheel thief can probably get his/her hands on a master key.... Probably will only stop
the amateurs. Are there better wheels locks than the ones that Toyota supplied? (oh no,
I sincerely hope this question has not been asked here... or else I'll get my rear-end spanked)
Or worse....
