Ticking Noise... Fender?

So I went in to toyota again for the third time to get my seat belt replaced and woo hoo they actually ordered the right part this time. I also told them about a ticking noise that mainly happens when i accelerate from a stop or hit a bump and it was getting realllly annoying.

I thought it would have been the windshield tabs but they said they checked and said it was coming from the fender? so now they want it for an entire day and I said i need a loaner(but they are all out right now...) So I hafta wait..

How can the fender be making the noise inside the cabin?

My 2007 SE-V6 had the same problem... The 'dogbone' motor mount connected to the top of the right strut tower pulls the tower away from the firewall. I'm not sure how the i4 is mounted but they were able to duplicate the ticking in my car by simply shifting between drive and reverse.

They wanted to remove the right front fender to check welds on the strut tower but they didn't think it was anything unsafe to keep driving, I was also up against getting a new transaxle at the time so they would do all work when ready... I sold the car a week or two later.

Is this causing any permanent damage because I have been driving quite a bit, I just turn the music up so I don't hear the ticking.... They still haven't called me yet saying their loaners are all still out...
So far my experience with the service dept. has been terrible and I haven't been an ass to them about anything cause I know its not gonna make a dif and make things worse...
ugh
