Spectre Performance Intake for 07 Camry I4 *Results posted*
Well guys, I went in today for the intake. Surprisingly, it took only about two hours to put on. Shaun, who was the tech working on my car, was great to deal with. They had other cars there, mainly muscle, and a Ferrari F40 that was being serviced. But anyway, we weren't able to get on the dyno, sadly. But from the intake install, I can tell you that the accelerator is SLIGHTLY quicker. Also, it's a bit louder as well, since all the resonators were removed from the stock intake system. I'll have more pictures up for you guys once the Spectre guys send it to me. It'll be on their website in the next few weeks as well. Shaun will give me a parts list of what was used so you guys can go to your local auto parts store and pick them up yourselves. But for now, I took a few shots of the engine myself after I got home. They had the option of red or blue. I went with red cause it "somewhat" matched whatever other red parts were in my engine. Plus the TRD badge on my grille as well. If you guys have any questions, let me know.
The V6 guy will be going in next wednesday. And from what I was told... you guys are going to be in for one hell of a time. Supposedly it's got all kinds of complicated crap. But other than that, I wouldn't know because I haven't seen what the V6 has underneath the hood.
At the bottom is a list of the parts that were used. It was a pretty simple install and design, since the stock intake had removed just about all the airboxes and resonators.
-edit #2-
Alrighty, there ya go guys. We averaged out a 3HP gain and a 3ft/lb gain in torque. And the dyno that was used was a Mustang Dyno and not a Dynojet.

Reason: updated
The MAF sensor needed an adaptor that would fit onto their tubing. That took a few weeks to have it custom fabricated.
And being that the intake system is modular, they had to find out what worked best. On top of that, we took our time :P If I wanted to do the CAI, I can just go back in and they'd extend it for me, but I want to keep my foglight housing and extending it towards the mid lower grille would just be messy.

This completely defeated the purpose of me initially setting that entire meeting up. I could care less how it "looked" or how your butt dyno tells you how much the acceleration is different. The ENTIRE point was to get a baseline done of your car BEFORE then AFTER the install..... Sorry, but this entire thing is pointless without numbers.
I'll be in touch with scott to find out what the deal is, because as it stands right now, im rather dissapointed.
My only other question for you is, do you notice any increase in gas mileage? Reducing all that restriction in airflow should have free'd up a mile or two I would imagine.

I was pretty disappointed myself that they didn't even put it on the dyno. I mean I was parked right in front of the ramps so I was thinking, oh, we're going to document before and after, dyno, then start experimenting. But, no dyno.. so I really don't know what the gains are. I'll try contacting Shaun or Scott as well. Brandon, let me know what Scott tells you. I'm sure I can head back in again if they do the dyno trials.

Well heres the thing, I was told from jump, that there would be before and after dyno sheets. That was the main driving force behind me even getting the ball rolling on this. I could care less how the damn thing looks, or any of that nonsense. I wanted concrete proof of the difference between stock and SRI on the I4. And I was told, time and again, "yes we want to know too.... blah blah blah...." And here we are over 2 months later......... with nothing but some shiny tubing and a cone filter. Hooray........
I coulda hit up Ping Yangs flea market and picked up a shiny intake and cone filter in less time.
Im not happy about this at all. No offense to you or anything, i mean shit, you have a free intake so that at least pays for your time. We, however, get jack shit. I do want to thank you though for being the guinea pig for the I4 guys. Would have been cooler if we could have the concrete numbers to back up the product, but oh well i guess.

I'm with Brandon402 on this one. You think Spectre would know it's somewhat difficult to sell a product that they advertise gives you power gains when they can't necessarily prove it.
