Can you give a better description? A little thing with a hole in it could be a bagel. How little is little?

What car do you have?

I'm guessing he's talking about the filter cartridge for the 07 V6? It comes with 2 o-rings and this little drain goodie. If you loosen the bolt in the bottom of the canister and insert the nylon drain gizmo it will drain the cartridge before you take the whole thing off and avoid a little mess. If you choose to take the whole canister off then you don't need it, but you'll get your hands dirty.

Are you talking about a drain plug gasket?

Sometimes dealers insert the gaskets in every oil filter box when they stock them.
