Camry XLE V-6 : "real world" mileage?

Hey guys

What is the real world mileage you are actually getting, city and highway, with the Camry XLE V-6? I am considering purchasing one, but was orginally looking at the 4 cylinder, until the EPA mileage site claims the V-6 and I-4 are basically the same on fuel economy.

Would like some info on this.

Thanks everybody

Not an XLE, but my SE V6 gets 24-26 mpg in DC rush hour traffic and I average 31.4 mpg on open highway (driven to New England a few times). Go for the 6.

My V6 has done as poorly as 19 with nothing but stop and go construction sites and hard starts. Road mileage here in Tx averages around 30.5 but varies some. Better mileage if I am generally driving under 70. Little worse if going to Houston. Keeping up with traffic means sticking around 80-85 for 200 miles.

It will really vary based on your driving style and traffic. I track my mileage very closely. My city mileage has ranged from 20-23.5 city and 25-31 highway. I have a short in-city commute and I work early hours so I never deal with any significant traffic.

Deffinetely get the V6, if it was the Gen5 it would be a different story since the engine power difference wasnt as great as it is now.

When I do mostly city driving, I get around 22-23mpg with windows down, A/C on a bit, and alot of idling. I've gotten up to 35mpg though on the highway at 55-60mph.

I drive vert aggresively as well. I'm not going to drive like a grandma to gain 1-2mpg, thats why I got the V6 instead!

And I heard about that to, which is why I try to get gas early in the morning after a cool night.
