I don't see rear foglights. As for the HID, you can get a kit, or a retro.

The rear foglight is the single red light that's lit up on the trunk lid. On US Camry cars, it's
just a running light.

Why get a kit when I can get genuine Toyota HID parts that were specificallly made for
a Camry?(a Japanese market Camry, that is)

You can get it, but it will cost you a pretty penny. S2000 or E46 retro>Importing Toyota HID parts.

Perhaps it's time for me to burn off some miles and fly to Japan for a few days.

They gotta have junkyards where I can scavenge some Gen 6 HID parts, no?

The only problem is that I don't speak any Japanese.... Well... that's not entirely
true.... I do know Toyota-Nissan-Honda-Benihana-Hibachi-Matsushita-Ichiban-Nikon-.......

Not a good idea since Japanese cars are right hand drive.

I just read the Toyota Japan site you linked and it does say "rear foglights" but it's basically the same thing as DRLs in the front. Parts of the taillight is on while you drive. That's all, it's a safety precaution feature in Japan. I guess people can't drive too well.

My old Volvo, Mercedes, and Bimmer all have single rear foglights.(yes, intergrated
just like on the Japan Camry) In fact, I think all European and most Japanese market
require it.

But not in the North American market(US/Canada) Same is true with convex outside
rear-view mirrors. European and Japanese cars nearly all have them. US FMVSS and
it's counterpart, the Canadian CMVSS, do not allow it... not sure why... it's safer with convex
mirrors.

Rear fog lights are not like DRL, at least they should not be. Here in the US, cars can be equipped with rear fogs but they must be on the left side of the car or on both sides; you cannot have a single rear fog light on the right side. They may be used only when visibility is less than 500 ft IIRC.

As for convex mirrors, US cars have a convex mirror on the out side on the passenger side. That's why it says objects are closer than they appear.
