5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
It is an exact match for shape. However, I heard the TCH windshield costs over $1k as a replacement cost, while the "regular" Gen6 windshield is something like $300. So unless your insurance is willing to allow you to do this, you would paying a lot. In fact, a lot of hybrid owners are complaining because their insurance companies are putting in regular windshields as reaplcements, and not the special TCH windshield. Everyone is checking part#'s when getting their glass replaced... huge discussion going on about this over at Greenhybrid Camry forum.

There are cheaper ways to decrease noise rather than laying down enough for 3 new ones.
What I find interesting is why the Hybrid gets a quiet windshield to begin with. If anything, the Hybrid makes LESS noise than any of the other variants.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Because the Hybrid makes less engine noise, you need a quieter windshield to drown out the road noise. With the normal ICE, the engine noise will drown out the low-speed road noise.

I hate hybrids that sneak up behind me.... they're too silent.
some kids love them, so they can sneak out of the house at night
without waking anybody....
