5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Guys,
I was on my way to drop my daughter off her school this morning sitting at the stop light then I saw the my car is overheated. I said WTF?????? I said to myself this can't be. I check my coolant and engine oil once a week. So I quickly turned on the heater with maxium fan on to help relieve the heat. Got to my daughter school which is 1 more block. I turned off the engine then I found out there was no more coolant in the reserve tank. I carefully cover the coolant cap with a rag to open it. I could not see the coolant with my eyes so I don't know how empty it is. There is no leakage from my garage neither. So I open the engine oil cap and turn it over to look then I said OMG because there were dry up and smell like coolant on the oil cap itself. So I called my Service Advisor then he sent a tow truck and gave me another Camry as a loaner.
I know that my egine will never be the same. My questions are:
1) How did this happenned with only 23K miles?
2) What are they gonna do with my engine? Flush it?
3) Can they clean/flush it so my engine will be 100% clean like before?
4) Can I request for a engine replacement? If not, can I demand for an extended warranty?
I will hear from my Service Advisor once they figure out what went wrong and step of action they're gonna do. I am so bump about this.

Thank Joe, I will try that. When you said "Toyota Customer Care" you meant the Local dealership Customer Service Department, right?
No that will get you nowhere, at least thats how it worked for me. I mean call this number: 1-800-331-4331. Just tell them that you are now concerned with the longevity of your vehicle after the repair.
edit-I have gone thru it all with my car, and have this 1-800 number on speed dial. LOL! I am currently in the arbitration process, we will see how that goes. I wish I would have kept my Mazda, but it was in the shop too much. LOL!

Damn man. Ouch! All I can say is good luck with that ordeal and hopefully your engine didn't really get damaged just in case they try to "fix" the existing engine. Maybe it was about to cause damage but you stopped driving it in the nick of time.

That's what I am hoping but is there a way I can tell?
