hmmm... I remember seeing the sales board at the finance manger's office. In June,
this dealership sold 127 Camrys(alll versions). That's 60+ new college freshmen who
are very lucky....
When I went to college.... Al Gore hasn't invented the internet yet... the Berlin wall was
still up, and I drove a very old American car.

Who said they were freshmen?
I bought my Camry with my own money at the beginning of my sophomore year.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.
I'm a senior at UCSB and drive a Camry. I know of 2 other people who drive Camrys. Come to think of it, a lot of my friends drive newish family sedans.
somehow i doubt that... most college kids don't have the finances to be able to afford a new car...
You'll be amazed at the amount college kids owe by the time the leave college. Between credit cards, cars and stupid useless electronics, drinks, food and showing off in front of other college kids, they rack up a lot of debt. They dont need the finances, its practically given to them. Banks know that if the kid dont pay, most of their parents will (nice parents that is), so they let them have the credit. Cars, come on, if a college kid has his/her parents paying college, all they have to make is $200 a week and they can afford a new car. Its college kids, not college adults. They dont have any other responsibility but to go to school and waste money.

I don't believe it at all. Alot of people still consider the Camry even this design to be stale and stagnat..... to each their own. I prefer the clean lines - Lexus esque design of the '07s.

If you work full-time and go to college full-time like me, you do. I bought a fully-loaded SE V6 last year, paid cash for it too. Fact of it is, most college kids are LAZY... yeah going to school and working full-time is very tiring, but it is worth it. I work my ass off for what have, and I'm only 22, with no debt either. Sad part though, is that at 22, I'm better off than most people at 50... I got started on my 401k and savings early on.
hehe I know someone who has a lambo at the school I'm going to, literaly it stood in the parking lot all last year, one of the kids has a maserati, at least 3 m5's that I saw at the car show modded carbon fibre etc, loads of escalades etc...not even ivy heh today's kids are spoiled...I wish I had the finances to properly mod my car but you learn other things when you dont have that much $$$ sometimes thats a lil more worth it
Try a top 20 or ivy school, you'll see kids with A8s, SLK320s, 911 turbos, S4, etc.
Today's kids are spoiled.
People are naive and stupid, especially Americans. I know if I had a ton of money I wouldn't buy my kids those cars. I worked my ass off for what I have, and so will they.
i have a few friends who have camry's Gen5s but thats because mommy or daddy got a luxury car/SUV. I knew a guy at university from BC who had his BMW X5 shipped to Waterloo term for his use... Hardly uses it and I hear it costs quite a bit to ship a car across canada...
