Gen5 I know that I said I don't like red brakes but I got some...

Yep. I installed red brakes on my car yesterday.

I'm hoping that the ceramic pads won't glaze as bad as the carbon metallic under high speed braking. You can see how badly they are glazed in the picture below.

Note: My brakes are still black but the EBC ceramic pads come red already. Being you can barely see them I just left them alone.

What does this have to do with a Gen 5 or 6 Camry you may ask? Here's the front brakes of my Camry:

Sorry, I'm just a little bored and trying to kill some time.

I'm going to have to paint my Wilwood brakes too. The calipers are turning purple and the rotor hats are turning brown. Anodized parts suck.

Zinc coating on the rotors doesn't do jack shit either. I had to paint the rotor edges because they looked like ass.

I really can't believe how much better my car brakes with the EBC ceramic/kevlar brake pads. The difference is amazing. Wilwood's Polymatrix pads cost more than twice as much as EBC's pads and aren't nearly as effective. Right now the EBC pads make a little bit of noise when braking lightly and coming to a stop. I imagine that will go away as soon as the break in some more.

In the past I've been a huge fan of Performance Friction Carbon Metallic brake pads. Time will tell if the EBC pads will be my next "first choice".

Those are 13" rotors with 6 piston calipers. The first time I applied the brakes I almost face planted the steering wheel. They work great and even better with the new pads.

I'm thinking of ditching the ABS now.
