camry hesitation

Driving a 2002 camry v6 and experiencing some light throttle hesitation when driving on the highway or starting from a stop. Does not happen until engine is warm. I have tried all grades of gasoline and cleaners but no change. Any ideas??

Try cleaning your EGR valve out. It may be sticking open at times due to carbon interference.

It's worth a shot and it's a fairly common problem.

just about everyone has that problem... it has to do with the drive-by-wire throttle....

That's a good point. If you're not familiar with the car you could just be experiencing a different feel because of the drive by wire throttle.

I've never felt a hesitation in any drive by wire Toyota though. I guess it's just me.

I have had the car since new and the car has 90,000 miles on it. I have been reading some posts referencing throttle problems. Although, it never had any hesitation until around 60,000 and of course the dealer can never duplicate the problem.

My '07 at times has horrible hesitation because of that drive by wire, do all new cars have drive by wire? I was reading a honda board and people were complaining about the civic hesitating too.

Mine does it too and it's the EGR Valve. My check engine light came on the other day so i'm guessing that's the cause (yes TRD i'm going to do it this week or next, just ordering a new one).

The dealer will gladly do it for 600 bucks!

I believe all new cars are going to the drive by wire set-up. I also drive a Nissan, no problems.
