5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I plan on getting a 07 or 08 Camry V6 SE. I have a few questions about performance upgrades.
1. Any opinions on putting a supercharger on the camry?
2. Is it possible to have a dual TRD Exhaust on the camry replacing the stock ones?
3. Opinions on getting aftermarket Disc Brakes?
I know this car is considered a "Family Car". I love the look and performance of the car so I want to add a few upgrades to spice it up. My cousin has the 07 XLE and WOW its great. I wonder how it would run and sound with a supercharger on it?
1) There's only the prototype TRD supercharger out right now that no one can get.
2) Yes, TRD is supposedly going to release an exhaust system for the V6 soon. Currently there's the Borla exhaust that you can only get from a Southeast dealership.

you mean there is a prototype for the camrys? Because I seen a few cars with the TRD Supercharger. But they were all Scion TC's.
yea but I dont really like turbos because they use waste that comes out the exhaust and the supercharger uses the belt which is connected straight to the motor which means more power. but then again I seen a few clips of turbos out running superchargers. My friend has a volkswagen jetta with a turbo and it sounds sweet. I might just go with the turbo since the camry has a lot of power stock anyway.
right, but I dont plan on racing it. I am going to use it as my daily driver. As long as I can control the car with no problems im good. 18s are wayy too small for me. I was going to get a truck but I dont want to spend $40k-$50k for one.
this is for the 4 banger....note 2400 displayedd on it
ive seen the camry sportivo concept (AUS) with a supercharged 2gr, but not sure if it is just a concept product or if itll ever go on sale in the US....would be nice tho
as for the TRD exhuast, i know for a fact that isd on the way...yes its a dual exhuast system

I thought the same thing. It does say 2400 but that's a six cylinder. I got corrected when I first started posting here. After looking at the position of the motor mount, oil filler cap, and other things I'm convinced that it's a V6.
There was an article that went with that pic and I thought it said V6 also but I can't remember for certain.
i still dont think that engine is big enough to be the 2GR....there isnt enough space behind the block itself for that supercharger to fit....it looks like a 4 banger to me but i really dont know
its a concept car
