After trying the Ipod in a few different places I found one that works:
When the Ipod is away, all that is noticable is the little clip on the right "garnish" piece. I like it very unobtusive looking.

When the Ipod is out. I may beef up the clip a bit so I can press on the ipod with more pressue without ANY movement. However, it works perfectly with almost no movement.

The setup:
- A P.I.E. (model TOY03-AUX) aux adapter hidden behind the dash (sitting on top of, not inside, the glove box). The PIE is from my 05 Highlander (my trade in) which didn't have an aux port. (already owned it)
- I spliced into the cig lighter (couldn't find a tap for the new extra mini fuses Toyota used)
- Put a 3 port cig lighter IN the glove box ($20 from Radio Shack)
- The mount is a thin piece of metal that is bent around the "garnish" with carpet tape to keep it against. Plus a button type holding thing that I painted grey for the highlander screwed into the metal. (.35 cents)
- The charger is a Belkin Auto Kit (mine for a few years) which has an audio out, going to the PIE, althought Belkin is replacing it with a new one under warranty (should arrive today) and it'll be black, which wasn't available when I bought the white one.
- The other thing plugged into the cig lighter is a wireless backup camera that can kinda be seen in the upper left of the pictures.
- That's my phone holder near the radio with the headset
Now for the fun part, now that I FINALLY got a good place for the ipod, I am getting an Ipod Touch. I'm thinking that I can just mount it horizontally at the front of the cubby and just open the door and have access to it without having to move it anywhere. As I just use album shuffle and I don't often search for songs, horizontal should work. I'm looking forward to that.
I'm a bit verbose.
