Gen5 repainting wheels

here's a pic of a wheel very similar to mine (same brand, i'm jus too lazy to post a real pic )...

the color scheme: it's a chrome outer lip with gun metal gray spokes. i was wondering how much it would cost to paint the spokes silver? i've seen wheels painted on "Unique Whips" and "Pimp My Ride", but they just painted accents to match the car's color. i like the design of my current wheels, i jus want the spokes silver instead. any idea how much this would cost to do? thnx 4 any input. peace!

Just go pic up some wheel paint and do it yourself. It's really easy.

Yo TRD, i'd love to do it myself. it wuld probably save me hundreds of dollars. i think i saw some "wheel" paint somewhere, but i cant remember where. was it Pep Boys? i dunno. holler back if u know which stores have a good selection of wheel paint.

P.S. before painting, would I have to lay down some primer first?!

Powdercoat them, I have a friend who is in that business. I'll ask what they charge.

I know that Pep Boys, Advance, AutoZone, etc. carry wheel paint. Probably nearly every auto parts supplier with carry it.

I wouldn't put down any primer if the wheels are already painted. I would mask the wheel off (where you aren't painting) and then lightly rough up the existing paint with sandpaper. Then I would shoot the paint on. I've had success in the past with this method and it's worked perfectly and was very durable.

I'm not a paint expert by any means. Someone may have a better way to do it.
