5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I was bored this weekend and wanted to see what the car drives and rides like with larger wheels on it before I actually purchase some. I took the 17's off my Mustang and threw them on the Camry for a couple of days. I really liked the improvement so I plan on getting some 18X8's when I find some I like. Anyone know of a good lift kit I can get for this car?

Yep, Mustang's wheel specs are 17X8 with a 45 mm offset. I think the offset is even the same as the Camry, but I'm not 100% sure about that. The tires on there are 245/45/17 which has a slightly smaller diamter than the Carmy so the speedometer was off a bit, but not a big deal since it was temporary. I really like Watchcrazy's wheels, but I think they might be too light colored for my car. I think gunmetal would look better with the blue.
Oh, I think I technically needed cerntering rings or something like that, but I don't know much about them. All I know is that the ring on the Mustang is larger than the camry and the wheel mounted over the camry's so the lug nuts held the wheel on. I plan on ordering wheels specifically for the Camry so I won't have to worry about fitment issues.

Yeah, you'll need the Hub Centric Rings but if this is temporary I wouldn't worry about too much. I did posted a thread about Hub Centric Rings on my wheels so you can search on that topic.

IMHO, I really don't like the rims at all. Just doesn't look like they belong on a camry...
To each his own...
