I have a 07 SE and can't seem to get my Saris Bones 2 to fit onto the car. The upper hooks and side hooks are a lil snug but fit but i can't seem to get the lower hooks in place because its almost flush with the top of the bumper.
I was wondering what all you guys are using as far as bike racks? I'm trying to get a tow hitch type but the underspoiler gets in the way. Any ideas?
i prefer yakima roof racks. during the summer there are bike trays up there and during the winter its a ski rack. plus i have one of those coffin carriers which adds tons of storage for long road trips.
I spent about an hour trying to get my Saris Bones 3 to fit. I decided to just leave the bikes at home. I couldn't get it to fit quite right. Let me know if you get it to fit...

I'm using a Saris Bones... it's not a 3 as it's a least a year old, it's probably the 2 model.
I have no issues with it and since I have all the angles set, takes me about 3 mins to put in on the car.

It took me about 45 mins of trial and error to get it all set up..... I felt the same way as you when I was trying to get all the angles correct.
Count the amount of notches each time you test fit... and then adjust in big increments to get the angles close and then small increments to dial it in.

do you have or can take pics of how u attached the lower hooks? The only thing i found is too hook it inside the trunk by peeling off the plastic liner for the trunk and this is pretty hagglesome!!!
Sorry for the delay... a little busy with work etc. Anyhow, took the pics with my Blackberry Curve... it should give you an idea of the mounting points.
Hope the above pics helps. Let me know if you need any other angles.
BTW just curious.. what's the bike of choice that rides on the rack?
Mine = Trek Fuel 98
I always thought that those would mess up the car. And I still dont trust them
Have had no issue with this type of rack. Had it on and off the car at least 20+ times... 5-6 hrs of driving at times with the bike on. And a few days at a time without the bike.
My brother used the same one on his CLK (silver) for a few years with no issues at all.
As long as you keep your car clean, especially where the hook mount and rubber feet touch the paint... it's fine.
