cover for front license plate holes?

Hello everyone, I'm new here. I purchased my Camry back in June. Enjoying it so far, but i dont like the unsightly mounting holes for the front license plate. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get some covers for it.

I lurking on this forum before registering and I saw a white Camry which had something plugging the front license plate holes. I just can't recall the user which had them. If someone knows, this might help too.

Thanks everyone in advance.

You could use some stainless steel button head screws and paint them body color.

You could also use license plate screw caps.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I was hoping something more subtle and not as noticable.

More subtle than button head screws painted body color?

In that case fill the holes and sand them smooth. Then repaint the bumper. That's about as subtle as it gets.

Since you are in California, how about attaching the front plate using those holes so you don't get a ticket for no front plate?

Sorry if I offend you by not attaching the front plate, but I prefer to not have it on there. I haven't had any problem with my previous cars, so I'll run the risk.

No offense taken at all. In the police business, bored cops use the abscence of a front plate as an excuse to stop you, check for license, insurance, burned tail lights, suspicious anything at all in the seat, and generally taking time out of your day that you could spend better elsewhere. Mine looks just fine with the black plastic bracket offered by Toyota for this purpose. Screwing it directly to the pumper looks tacky.

After browsing CarDomain for a while, I actually saw the car with the holes plugged. The car was silver not white, I guess my memory is getting worst. I hope the user doesn't mind, but his name over there is Netforcer. Maybe I'll see if that user is here so I can PM him about it.

I swore I saw the pictures from this forum though.

EDIT: So he is a user here. Hope he can assist me.

driving around with no front plates always looks like someone is test driving a vehicle to purchase or something to me.

Thanks, that was exactly what I was looking for. Yea it is a tad pricey, but if they can get it to color match I think it'll be worth it.

Here's a little idea I tell all of my friends to do if they don't want to get pulled over for not having a front license plate. I'm not in the traffic division but one of my buddies told me this little trick...

Since you're in California you know that 99% of dealers have the temporary registration affixed to the lower part of the front windshield. Having that on usually tells a cop that the car is new and does not yet have the plates, so technically you can't get pulled over for such a trivial thing. I bought my car back in May of 2006 and 14 months later I still have my temp. registration along with the Longo Toyota decal that holds it in place.

You can buy similar plugs for a quarter at home depot or ace, true value, etc, use touch up paint to match your car
