Gen5 Fog light pictures ....

Folks, I have a request ... I got my aftermarket forg light kit from ebay after a one month wait. I have to take down my bumper and make cuts for them. Can anyone post close up pictures of their 2004 fog lights please ? I want to see how they really fit and cut the holes accordingly.

My car is a 2004 LE I4, and I love it

Wooow, sorry for the multiple posts .... my browser got stuck and I just escaped out and rehit the submit button and ended up with three posts

I thought the 02-04 fog panels could be taken off. I know with mine (2002 LE) you could stick your hand behind the bumper and push off the panels and the fog lamps should have kits that would clip right onto place. I'm not sure but the gen5.5 you can't push off the panels?

^ditto here for an '03 camry. and indeed, you can't just "push" off a panel on the gen 5.5 camry.

side note- i actually just got my fogs from a corolla owner- same thing and they fit perfectly.

Japanese built LE's have the removeable fog light covers... US built LE's do not, they are molded into the bumper (for both gen 5 and 5.5)

i have a US built 05 camry, and i decided to go the route of getting a SE/XLE bumper instead of trying to cut my original bumper.

Yep. Japnense built LE's have pop out covers. You can tell from quite a distance, so you can turn to your friends and tell there where it was built. If you do this to every Camry you pass, you will soon find out which friends think you are crazy.

Thanks for the pictures ...Sorry to see that your car got scracthed like that.

I searched the forums but there were no pictures which really shows where the the fog light goes like liquidi3lads pictures, especially the second one. This really gives me an idea of how to cut it and the brackets I have to make.

Thanks for taking the time to take the pictures, very appreciated.

not for gen 5. my us-built gen 5 le had removable foglight covers. and i'm pretty sure it was us built (vin number, and no bumper tow hook cover on the front, and the repair manuals for the kentucky made camrys always match my camry).

slight correction

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.

you said they are molded so does that mean there is still a bracket behind the molded cover?

Put in HID and U'll see a huge improvement. Look like yours have a glare shield and throw light more side ways.

wow, old thread. no, there is no provision for a bracket behind the molded area. that's why i didn't bother cutting my LE bumper and got an SE/XLE bumper instead.
